In the first issue of this year's Statesman I offered my predictions for the 2008 Presidential election. With one night to go, I decided to offer up my updated version of the presidential race and some senate predictions.

Obama Safe: 227 EV's: Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii
Obama Likely: 74 EV's Iowa, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio
Battlegrounds-Predicting Obama: Florida, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Montana, Missouri, Indiana
Obama Total= 378 EV's
McCain Total= 160 EV's
Battlegrounds-Predicting McCain: North Dakota, Arizona, Georgia
McCain Likely: 5 EV's: West Virginia
McCain Safe: 127 EV's: Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina
Senate Battlegrounds/Potential Democratic Pick-Ups:
Virginia: Solid Dem
New Mexico: Solid Dem
Colorado: Solid Dem
New Hampshire: Likely Dem
Alaska: Likely Dem
North Carolina: Likely Dem
Minnesota: Predicting Dem
Georgia: Predicting Run-Off= Ultimate Dem win
Kentucky: Predicting Rep.
Mississippi: Predicting Rep
Total Dems + Ind= 60 (after December Run-Off in December)
Update: It seems as though North Carolina is going to for Obama and Missouri for McCain. If this is the case, please ignore these final predictions and look back to issue 1 of the Statesman...as those would have been 100% accurate.
